Honey Lou and Pat McConnell purchased the 8,000 acre ranch just south of Walsenburg, Colorado. in 1991. Honey Lou began showing reining horses in 1998. With 2,000 acres of pasture to roam, our mares can breed naturally, and the babies learn about living in open spaces.

Birgit Burglechner, owner of Diamond Edge Equine Dental Care has been with the ranch since February of 2006.

She instituted an equine feeding regimen and whole horse care program that is designed for each individual horse.

She is at the ranch 3 times a week, handling all aspects of general medical care as well as routine dental care, and ranch work.

Our breeding is very versitile, in that we try to get the best of all bloodlines into our horses. Whether a person is interested in reining or cutting or just want a good working cow horse, we have the best of the foundation blood to meet those expectations.

We keep up to twenty broodmares, all with incredible pedigrees to insure not just a one-sided breeding through the stallion. The foals that we produce show it.

Honey Lou breeds for color in her horses as well. Not only does she believe in a sound and athletic horse, but also one of great color, as found in her dun horses with plenty of leg barring.
